Dharwad

Dharwad and Hubli are twin cities of Karnataka. While Dharwad is educational and cultural centre , Hubbali is commercial hub. These cities have municipal corporation by the name Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC). Dharwar was part of Bombay Presidency during British rule of India. Dharwad is known as the 'Oxford of Karnataka' due to its universities and colleges. Dharwad is the seat of learning with two universities, plenty of colleges and some very progressive schools. Hubli-Dharwad are the renowned seat of Hindustani music. Dharwad is also emerging as hub for automobile industry with big plants like Tata Construction (TELCON) & Tata Motors.
