It is a small fort consisting of a mosque and hammam. Jaunpur is not a tourist spot but has all the elements to attract tourists interested in history. The town does have hotels and eateries to cater to the tourists. The town lacks tourist facilities like trained guides. Autos are available but the drivers are not aware of the historical places. So visitors have to be self-prepared. Jaunpur is known for its medieval architecture consisting of a series of mosques along with a couple of tombs, a bridge and a fort. The mosques of Jaunpur have a unique architectural style probably found nowhere in the sub-continent. The mosques were constructed during the Sharqi rule (1394 - 1479) and come in with towering ornamental gateways. The gateways have intricate decoration complete with geometric and floral patterns. They also have beautiful calligraphies. The bridge has beautiful coloured chhatris and the fort towers above the town.
